  The Centre today approved grant of about Rs 2,550 crore to drought-affected states of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

• Centre to Release Rs 88 Crore Fund for Drought Relief in Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh

  The Centre would "immediately" release Rs 88 crore for Andhra Pradesh, in the wake of drought in Rayalaseema region and deput teams for assessing the extent of damage caused due to the calamity.

• Andhra Pradesh government declares 234 mandals 'drought-hit'

  The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday declared 234 mandals in nine districts of the state as drought-hit in 2012, to enable farmers avail credit facilities and take up relief operations.

• Andhra Pradesh by-polls: Model code relaxed for drought relief

  The Election Commission (EC) has slightly relaxed the model code of conduct in 12 districts of the state for the by-polls to 18 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat, with a view to carry out drought relief works.

• Centre grants Rs 714 crore to Andhra Pradesh towards drought relief

  The Government of India has granted a sum of Rs 714 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to Andhra Pradesh towards drought relief.
