A third leopard has been captured on the footpath area leading to the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala, an official of the Andhra Pradesh Forest department said on Thursday.

Four healthy tiger cubs were found in a house at Gummadapuram village in Nandyala district on Monday morning and the forest department officials took them into their custody after receiving information.

Seven peacocks were today found dead near here in Andhra Pradesh, Forest Department officials said. According to Divisional Forest Officer Priyanka Whergese, the carcasses were found in agricultural fields in the outskirts of Sirsepalli village, about 35km from here. Cause of the peacocks death was not yet known, she added.

Central government Forest Department's Additional Director General (Wild Life) Jagadish Kishwant said a project has been prepared for protection of Mada forest area in East Godavari district besides the coastal areas.
