A team of Delhi Police out for patrolling duty saved the life of a 42-year-old man, who was allegedly trying to kill himself by jumping down from Andrews Ganj flyover on Sunday.

A 55-year-old senior consultant of a multinational company was thrashed and robbed of cash and other belongings by a group of men who allegedly abducted him from south Delhi's Andrews Ganj area on the pretext of offering a lift in their car on Thursday.

Municipal councillors, commissioners and other civic officials today welcomed the rolling out of the odd-even scheme, saying they would extend full cooperation to make the road-rationing experiment a success.
