Animal Birth Control Programme

The Centre on Tuesday directed local bodies to ensure only recognised organisations carry out the animal birth control programme in stray dogs as per the recently notified rules.

In a shocking act of animal cruelty, 47 stray dogs were allegedly poisoned to death and the carcasses dumped on a by-pass road in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu.
