FlickType iPhone Keyboard for the Blind Shutting Down, Developer Shares Highly Charged Twitter Thread

FlickType, the iOS keyboard app for the visually impaired is shutting down, its developer announced on Twitter. In a thread on the microblogging platform, developer Kosta Eleftheriou announced that he is forced by circumstances to discontinue the iPhone keyboard functionality of the app.

Facebook Improves Automatic Alt Text for Visually Impaired Users, Now Recognises Over 1,200 Concepts

Facebook has announced improvements for its Automatic Alt Text (AAT) system. It will now be able to identify activities, landmarks, types of animals, and more. The tech giant said in a blog post that the improved AAT recognises over 1,200 concepts, that is 10 times more than what it could identify when it was launched in 2016.
