With the Chennai airport shut for operations till Sunday, December 6, the Rajali Naval air station near Arakonam, about 70 km west of the Tamil Nadu capital, will be converted into an airport.

Over 4,000 births in nine months
As many as 4,086 children were born in the district in the government hospitals between April and December this year. This included 1,061 caesarean deliveries. This was informed at meeting of the public health services chaired by the district collector S Nagarajan on Thursday here.
