Army Battling Floods

Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in south Rajasthan, as areas bordering Gujarat are battling a flood like situation for the past few days. Army helicopters and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams on motorboats have been pressed into service, rescuing more than 50 people so far.

Spread out on the soggy ground near most of the bunkers at an Army post in Akhnoor, 80 km from Jammu, boots dot the landscape two at a time, waiting to be permeated by the bright sunlight.
