Microsoft Reportedly Hosted Sting Concert in Davos a Night Before Laying Off 10,000 Workers

Microsoft reportedly hosted a private concert by artist Sting for around 50 people including the company's top executives, during the annual World Economic Forum meeting at Davos. The concert came a night before the technology giant announced its was laying off 10,000 workers in its largest round of layoffs since 2014, as per the report.

Assam Students' Body, Protesting Citizenship Law, Hints Launching Party

The All Assam Students Union (AASU), which has been protesting the amended Citizenship Act, on Sunday hinted at launching a political party along with "Shilpi Samaj" (artists'' forum) as an alternative to the ruling BJP and AGP as well as to opposition Congress.

Calling the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 "divisive, discriminatory, unconstitutional", more than 600 prominent individuals including writers, artistes, former judges and officials have urged the government to withdraw the proposed law which promises citizenship to non-Muslim minorities from three neighbouring countries.
