Assam Boat Death Toll

The overall flood situation in Assam further worsened on Thursday as fresh areas came under water. The death toll rose to 30 and many others went missing in a boat capsize in Goalpara district.

Search operations continued for the eighth day today to find survivors of the Dhubri boat tragedy with the Army, NDRF and BSF trying to trace victims. Police said no bodies were found either yesterday or today. Bodies of 38 victims have so far been recovered and 42 victims have been registered as officially missing.
