FASTag, the system that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to enable cashless toll payments, comes into force today. The prepaid tag, which is affixed on vehicle's windscreen and enables automatic transaction at toll plazas, is designed to bring a seamless experience for commuters.

India has sent a letter of request (LoR) to the US seeking to purchase patrol drones for protection and vigilance of its maritime assets in the Indian Ocean, sources said.

The tool uses data points from the Automatic Identification System network, which picks up GPS broadcasts of a vessel's location to map movements.
