Ayodhya Ram Mandir Gifts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday gifted a replica of the Ram temple in Ayodhya to French President Emmanuel Macron, who arrived in India to attend the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest.

A 108-foot-long incense stick, a 2,100-kg bell, a giant lamp weighing 1,100 kg, gold footwear, 10-foot-high lock and key, and a clock that simultaneously denotes time in eight countries are among the special gifts sent for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

As Ayodhya prepares for the grand consecration ceremony next month, Lord Ram is set to get special offerings from the places of his maternal grandparents and his in-laws in Chhattisgarh and Nepal.

An elderly artisan from Aligarh, famous for its handmade locks, has made a 400 kg lock for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya which is expected to open for devotees in January next year.

Noting that the construction of a statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya was a matter of pride for all Indians, the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board has said it would gift 10 silver arrows for his quiver as a mark of respect.
