Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday announced a fresh agitation against the Congress from October 2 that will last till next Lok Sabha elections. The focus will be on the upcoming Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

Former Karnataka Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde, who was closely associated with now disbanded Team Anna, feels yoga guru Baba Ramdev's agitation on black money and graft issues may re-energise the anti-corruption movement. He also believed it could cause electoral damage to the Congress.

Lending support to Baba Ramdev's agitation against black money and corruption, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Gadkari on Monday said his party does not expect political backing from the yoga guru and will actively support his protest.
