A Congress worker in Odisha on Monday resorted to a unique way of protest against fuel price rise by going around on a bullock cart asking people whether petrol prices have come down or not.

Protest shutdown against steep petrol price hike on Thursday partially affected India's tech hub with the leading IT firms, including Infosys Limited and multinationals logging out, even as normal life remained paralysed across Karnataka.

The Left and the Right today joined hands during the Bharat bandh that was called in protest against the recent hike in petrol price. But the response to the nationwide bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was mixed as most cities remained largely peaceful barring a few pockets which witnessed stray incidents of violence.

While his party makes grand preparations to wage a fierce protest against the recent petrol price hike, Uddhav Thackeray, executive president of the Shiv Sena, will not be at the helm of affairs. According to reports, Mr Thackeray isn't expected to be in the city today to lead the protest.
