December Bank Holidays: The Reserve Bank Of India has released the list of bank holidays for the month of December. Banks will remain closed for a total of 18 days this month, as per the RBI holiday calendar.

List of bank holidays falling in the month of December 2020: Domestic equity, debt, forex and bullion markets along with banks and other central government run institutions will be shut on Christmas.

The facility is used to electronically transfer funds of banks which are members of this system, from one account to another. "The system will be available on all days of the year, including holidays," RBI said in a notification.

Bank holidays 2019: Banks may be shut in some metros on November 12 (Gurunanak Jayanti) and December 25 (Christmas).

Earlier on December 26, 2018, nine bank unions had observed a one-day strike to protest against the proposed amalgamation of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda.
