The abduction drama maybe over but Prashant Layak says he feels insecure as a government official and the hostile environment in Jharkhand.

The family of the Jharkhand BDO Prashant Kumar Layak is still waiting for his release. Maoists abducted the officer on Saturday, demanding the release of some Maoists in jail.

Julie Layak, the wife of the abducted BDO spoke to her husband on Wednesday. "I spoke to my husband on Wednesday, he was fine then.", she said.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren has appealed to the Naxals to free the kidnapped Block Development Officer unharmed at the earliest.

The worried state government is now trying to strike a conciliatory note with the Maoists.
