The leaders of the world's 20 largest economies pledged to use all policy tools to address uneven economic growth that falls short of expectations, according to a draft Group of 20 (G20) communique seen by Reuters today.

Jaitley in his intervention during the 49th Annual Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting at Lima in Peru welcomed the efforts of OECD in areas of BEPS project and automatic exchange of information which have important implications for Commonwealth nations.

Keen to put in place a system to prevent international tax evasion and avoidance, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has made a strong pitch for countries to implement Common Reporting Standards on automatic exchange of information.

The Budget for 2015-16 may contain provisions relating to the Global Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) rules, which are aimed at collecting a fair share of taxes from multinationals operating in different tax jurisdictions, a source said.
