At least 17.50 kg of gold and Rs 6.34 lakh in cash was stolen from the office of Manappuram Finance Limited, located in central Pune, police said. The incident took place in Bhavani Peth on Tuesday, police inspector Sandipan Sawant said.

Three persons were injured as a service rifle belonging to a police constable accidentally fired inside a hotel in Bhavani Peth area on Thursday morning. According to the police, Constable Vilas Nivrutti Kashid of Khadak Police Station was at Hotel Ambika in Lohiyanagar, having tea, when the incident happened.

Abdul Sayyad (65) had just gone to the milk vendor to complain about a torn milk sachet. He had to pay for it with his life. Sayyad was beaten up by the vendor and two others after he complained about the torn packet and demanded another one.
