Police on Tuesday arrested the owner of a Bhopal-based private school in connection with the rape of an eight-year-old girl student at the educational facility's hostel, two weeks after a complaint was filed, an official said.

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the hostel of a private school in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal, following which a case has been registered against three persons, a police official said on Wednesday.

Ashwini Sharma, the main accused in the sexual abuse case involving four women and the director of a private hostel in Bhopal where they stayed, received a grant of Rs 6 lakh from the Madhya Pradesh government over the last two years for a boys' hostel, registered with the state government, that he ran.

A fourth woman has come forward and accused the director of a private hostel in Bhopal of keeping her in captivity and raping her regularly for six months. The horror at the Bhopal hostel was unraveled last week after a hearing and speech impaired 20-year-old filed a complaint.
