Bihar Hospital Bribe

A day after a Bihar couple alleged that a government hospital demanded a bribe to hand over their son's body to them, State Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Thursday ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident.

An elderly couple is out on the streets of Bihar's Samastipur seeking money to "get their son's body released from a government hospital". A hospital employee allegedly asked the couple for Rs 50,000 to release the body of their son.

Bihar Vigilance Bureau today arrested an employee of Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital in Muzaffarpur while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000, Additional Director General (Vigilance) P K Thakur said.
