Bihar cabinet today decided to refund license fees to bars, hotels and retail foreign liquor shops, besides giving 'export duty exemption' to distilleries of the state.

Late on Thursday night in parts of Bihar, little crowds formed outside liquor shops for the last time as big discounts and 'buy-one-get-one-free' deals were on offer.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has a novel idea to put to use Bihar's thousands of liquor shops, as his government gradually enforces prohibition. They can sell milk products, the chief minister plans.

Six people including four policemen were injured in a clash between illegal liquor vendors and the police at Banshichak village under Pirpainti police station of Bihar's Bhagalpur district.The police said that the clash occurred when a police team raided illegal liquor shops at the village last night triggering protest by the vendors.
