E-Challans Of Over Rs 9.4 Crore Issued At Bihar Toll Plazas In 10 Days

The Bihar Transport department and traffic police have issued over 16,700 e-challans worth Rs 9.49 crore in a week through e-detection system installed in 13 toll plazas in the state for violation of motor vehicle act, officials said.

An auto-rickshaw driver in Saraiya, Muzaffarpur, in Bihar was asked to pay a fine for violating traffic rules. However, as the driver was poor, the police said the lowest amount of challan was imposed on him. The minimum challan limit is Rs 1,000 which is imposed for not wearing a seat belt.
