Noted social activist Binayak Sen on Saturday sought modifications in the proposed Food Security Act to ensure the poor get enough food, saying it would not achieve the desired result in the present form.

The Supreme Court today granted bail to Maoist Politbureau member Narayan Sanyal. Sanyal, along with Binayak Sen, was convicted for sedition and sentenced to life imprisonment. Binayak Sen had already been granted bail.
