Vast areas of land and sea have become environmental sanctuaries in recent years but the world is not funding them adequately, the United Nations warned today.

The first ever National Biodiversity Congress will be hosted by Thiruvananthapuram on December, K.P. Laladhas, member secretary of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB), the main organiser of the event, said on Wednesday.
