Bjp Leh Journalists Bribed

The Jammu and Kashmir police have filed a First Information Report or FIR against the state BJP chief Ravinder Raina and a legislator for allegedly trying to bribe journalists in Ladakh last week. The complained was filed after a local court asked the police to file a case against the BJP leaders.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah today said action must be taken in the alleged bribery of journalists by BJP leaders in Leh in Jammu and Kashmir.

After a group of journalists in Jammu and Kashmir's Leh accused the BJP of "trying to bribe reporters for favourable coverage" to influence the national election, a video has emerged of envelopes being handed out to the media at a press conference held in the mountainous town last week.

A journalist body in Ladakh has accused the BJP of "bribing reporters for favourable coverage" to influence the national elections in the constituency which votes on Monday in the fifth phase. An inquiry has been ordered by the district election officer.
