Maharashtra transport department has decided to install roof-top indicators on new "black-and-yellow" taxis registered in Mumbai from February 1, an official said on Monday.

In the wake of tough competition from Ola, Uber and fleet cabs, a group comprising around 250 black-and-yellow taxis in Mumbai, has come up with a discount scheme. As per the offer, passengers will be given a '20% discount' if the fare crosses Rs 200.

If all goes well, two months hence, you will be able to book your daily ride in the black-and-yellow taxis by calling a call centre, which will arrange a taxi for you at your location.
