Body Found In Ladakh

The body of a missing teenage girl was on Wednesday recovered in frozen form in Ladakh's Zanaskar area of Kargil district, police said.

The body of a 39-year-old missing Italian trekker was found while an injured mountaineer was rescued in a separate operation by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Ladakh, officials said on Sunday.

The body of a 28-year-old Indian woman, who had gone missing in the Kargil district of Ladakh, was found in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region on Wednesday, police said.

Two more bodies were today found from the Khardung La pass in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh where 10 people were buried in an avalanche on Friday. The number of dead in the avalanche now stands at seven; five bodies were pulled out yesterday. Three more people are yet to be found.

Rescuers on Saturday found the body of Rifleman Sunil Rai who was buried in an avalanche in Ladakh yesterday.
