Bois Locker Room Case

Delhi High Court on Wednesday adjourned to May 18 hearing on a petition seeking an SIT or CBI investigation into the case related to "Bois Locker Room" social media group, in which a bunch of schoolboys allegedly shared objectionable pictures of minor girls.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court demanding investigation by a Special Investigation Team or the Central Bureau Of Investigation into the "Bois Locker Room", an Instagram group where obscene messages and morphed pictures of underage girls were shared.

Online communities like "Bois Locker Room" are commonplace, the 21-year-old man credited with exposing the Instagram group on which obscene messages and morphed photos of underage girls were shared by school students told NDTV on Thursday.

Instagram today said it has removed the objectionable content featuring minor girls on its platform, amid the outrage over the content.

"We absolutely do not allow behaviour that promotes sexual violence or exploits anyone, especially women and young people, and have actioned content violating our Community Standards as we were made aware of it," a Facebook spokesperson said.

An online group allegedly involving teenage boys from Delhi schools casually talking about rape, sexual objectification and slut-shaming schoolgirls has set off a storm on social media. Delhi Police has filed cases linked to the Instagram group, which has now been deactivated.
