Boy Drowns In Palghar

A 17-year-old boy drowned in a water-filled quarry at Virar in Maharashtra's Palghar district while trying to get a ball out of it when he was playing cricket nearby, a fire brigade official said on Saturday.

Heavy rains lashed Maharashtra's Thane and Palghar districts during the night and on Monday morning, causing flooding at several places and killing a boy, officials said.

A case has been registered against the manager and trainer at swimming pool in Vasai area of Maharashtra's Palghar after an 8-year-old boy drowned there, the police said.
