Boy Falls Into Sewer

An 18-year-old boy died and two persons are critical after falling into the chamber of a 15-foot deep underground sewer in the northern Mumbai suburb of Malad on Thursday, a civic official said.

The search and rescue operations were carried forward on Sunday to trace the 10-year-old boy, who fell into a sewer in the city on Saturday.

A 10-year-old boy fell into a sewer on Saturday afternoon and search operations by teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel were on to locate the child, the officials said.

In a tragic incident, a six-year- old boy died after he fell and drowned into a sewer while chasing his cricket ball in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar on Thursday, police said.

A 12-year-old boy died after he fell into an open sewer pit near Millennium bus depot in south-east Delhi on Monday, following which the police have registered a case of negligence and started investigation.

A five-year-old boy died after he fell into an open sewer in Manesar near Gurgaon on Thursday night. The victim, identified as Sumit, was rescued within an hour of falling in the sewer and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He however died soon after reaching there.
