Earlier this week, China officially stated the Siang River in Arunachal Pradesh may have turned muddy due to a series of earthquakes in Tibet in November. Beijing also alerted India of possible massive floods in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam due to the formation of massive landslide dams that might burst.

Brahmaputra Turning Black Due To Natural Causes, Says Union Minister

A preliminary study has found that the water of the Siang river, which originates in southern Tibet and becomes the Brahmaputra upon entering Assam through Arunachal Pradesh, is turning black due to a recent earthquake in the region, Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has said.
