Brazilian police have charged American swimmer Ryan Lochte with filing a false robbery report after the athlete had initially said he was robbed at gunpoint in a taxi by men with a police badge.

Brazilian inmate Ronaldo da Silva was making an escape of a sort as he hopped on a bicycle and pedalled furiously, clocking up several miles before jumping off. Silva didn't get very far, in fact not an inch. He's still inside the medium-security prison where he's serving a 5-and-a-half-year sentence for holding up a bakery.
