A petition was filed on change.org against the show Pehredaar Piya Ki, which was addressed to Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles and Information and Broadcasting (Additional Charge), calling for a ban on the show. The case has now reached the desk of Broadcasting Content Complaints Council

Faced with several complaints against cartoon channels for showing scenes which are unsuitable for children, the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) has asked broadcasters whose primary viewership is children to exercise greater caution in selecting content.

Broadcasting watchdog asks TV channels to stop shows depicting animal abuse

Noting that several television programmes were exploiting animals, birds and insects for the sake of entertainment, the Broadcasting Complaints Content Council (BCCC) has asked the channels not to air such content that was creating wrong impression among the viewers.

Acting on complaints received from the public, the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) on Friday said TV channels have been asked to air film award shows having double-meaning jokes and adult humour only after 11 PM.
