Reliance Industries on Monday said it would invest in special purpose vehicles (SPV) set up by Brookfield Infrastructure and Digital Realty for building data centers in the country.

Reliance Communications Ltd said on Thursday it completed the sale of its media convergence nodes (MCNs) and related infrastructure assets worth Rs 2,000 crore ($285.4 million) to Reliance Jio Infocomm.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed sale of the tower division of Reliance Infratel Limited to Brookfield Infrastructure Group.

In December last year, debt-laden Reliance Communications had inked a binding agreement to sell stake in its tower business to Canada-based Brookfield Infrastructure and its institutional partners for Rs 11,000 crore.

RCom will receive Class B non-voting shares in the new tower company providing a 49 per cent economic upside interest in the tower business based on certain performance conditions.

Under the terms of the deal, Reliance Communications is to receive an upfront payment of Rs 11,000 crore, which it has said will use to cut its debt load.

Reliance Communications will receive upfront cash payment of Rs 11,000 crore.

IL&FS Transportation Networks shares jumped as much as 3.2 per cent in an otherwise choppy market after a report said the company is planning to sell its operational road projects to reduce debt.

A consortium composed of Brookfield and the Core Infrastructure India Fund Pte Ltd are buying the projects, six of which are operational, said Ambit Holdings, which advised Gammon on the deal.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has raised about $90 million for a dedicated fund to invest in infrastructure sector, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
