Buses Over 15 Years

Volvo Auto India introduced two new models to its 9400 coach line-up - the 12 metre Volvo 9400 and the 14.5 metre Volvo 9400 at the 2016 Busworld Exhibition in Bengaluru. Incidentally, this year Volvo Buses also completes 15 years in the Indian bus market and has sold over 6000 buses in the country.

Goa government has issued directives that all buses, including those of state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL), which are more than 15 years old should be scrapped in a phased manner.

Government will soon come out with an integrated policy to scrap commercial vehicles that are over 10-year old to check rising pollution but there is no immediate plan to ban trucks and buses above 15 years, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said today.

Amid rising concerns over pollution level in the Capital and other cities in India, the government plans to ban trucks and buses older than 15 years from plying on the roads across the country.
