Cadaver Donation Programme

Tamil Nadu leads in cadaver organ donation in India as the last year alone witnessed 136 such donations, Dr J Amalorpavanathan, state convenor, Cadaver Transplant Programme, Tamil Nadu Organ Society, said today.

Two years ago, Dr Pushpanjali Ashokan in Tamil Nadu donated all organs of her son Hithendran, declared brain dead following a road accident. This incident served as a turning point and the state now ranks number one in multiple organ donation
