The group will initially comprise about 20 companies, including Boeing Co., NEC Corp., a Toyota Motor Corp.-backed startup called Cartivator, ANA Holdings Inc., Japan Airlines Co., and Yamato Holdings Co. Delegates will gather Aug. 29 for the first of their monthly meetings.

Engineers, supported by Toyota Motor Corp, demonstrated their flying car on Saturday, which they hope will be able to light up the Olympic flame for the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games.

Toyota, has recently invested $375,290 (Rs. 2.43 Crore approx.) on a new flying car project - SkyDrive. The car is being developed by a team of 30 Toyota employees calling themselves - 'Cartivator'.
