Two days after a case was filed against a UP journalist for filming students at a government school in Mirzapur eating rotis with salt as their midday meal, villagers have now come out in support of the reporter.

More than 100 journalists protested today at the Mirzapur Collectorate office, a day after a case was filed by the state government against a reporter who filmed students at a UP government school eating rotis with salt as their mid-day meal.

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Minister Satish Dwivedi on Monday condemned the filing of a first information report against a journalist who filmed students at a government school eating roti with salt as a part of their mid-day meal. Mr Dwivedi said he would initiate a probe in this regard.
