The CBI has arrested Assistant Director of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) Rahul Rathore and CMD of Air One Aviation Alok Sharma for allegedly facilitating the issuance of airport access pass to journalist Upendra Rai in alleged violation of norms, officials said on Thursday.

CBI ,on Monday, strongly opposed before the Punjab and Haryana High Court the bail plea of former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, sentenced to an 18-month jail term in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, and submitted that he must undergo "some part of marginal sentence" awarded to him.

Justice Sabina adjourned the case after CBI counsel Anmol Rattan Sidhu told the court that the agency was investigating the case and needed more time.

Former Haryana DGP, SPS Rathore has been granted interim bail till the next hearing. The interim bail has been granted in two cases - fudging the inquest report of Ruchika Girhotra and fabricating false charges against Ashu Girhotra, Ruchika's brother.

Abha Rathore has moved a petition in the sessions court against the verdict of CBI court in which SPS Rathore was awarded 6 months imprisonment, and he was found guilty for molestation. She also moved the high court for anticipatory bail, which has been adjourned till Tuesday.

The Union Law Minister has said the government would take a fresh look at the legal aspects of the case and ask the CBI to revisit it.

A former CBI judge who tried the Ruchika Girhotra case in 2001 has told NDTV that there were grounds to charge SPS Rathore under Section 306 for aiding and abetting the teenager's suicide.

"There were grounds to book Rathore under Sec 306 for aiding and abetting the suicide of Ruchika Girhotra," says the former CBI judge who tried the case.

"The prolonged trial and the age of the convict can be considered while passing the order on quantum of sentence," the CBI court said.
