Arvind Kejriwal's former top officer Rajendra Kumar has asked for early retirement in a long letter that alleges that the CBI harassed him and tried to get him to implicate the Delhi Chief Minister for corruption. "The same set of people" forced bureaucrat BK Bansal and his son to commit suicide, he alleges.

Bureaucrat BK Bansal was in jail in July when he was told that his wife and daughter had hanged themselves inside their home in Delhi. In a tragic replay two months later, Mr Bansal and his 28-year-old son allegedly committed suicide the same way.

The CBI today said the arrest of BK Bansal, senior official of Corporate Affairs Ministry, was made as per law and due procedures of the agency as has been done in other bribery cases in the past.

Two days after senior bureaucrat BK Bansal's arrest in Delhi for corruption, his wife and young daughter were found hanging inside their home on Tuesday.
