After West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, Congress-led Chhattisgarh has also withdrawn general consent accorded to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe cases in the state, officials said today.

Hours after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu declared that the CBI cannot conducts raids or investigations in his state without permission, his counterpart in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, too has withdrawn the free pass or "general consent" to the country's premier investigation agency.

The CBI cannot conduct raids or investigations in Andhra Pradesh without permission, the state's Chandrababu Naidu government has said, setting up a new point of conflict with the centre. The state government has withdrawn "general consent" to the CBI or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to operate in Andhra Pradesh.
