The Central Board of Secondary Education has extended the deadline for the moderation of marks for CBSE Class 12 results.

The education board has also opened a portal for the schools to upload marks as per the moderation policy. The portal for moderation and finalization of Class 12 results has opened today, on July 16 and will remain open till July 22, 2021.

The portal for moderation and finalisation of CBSE Class 12 results will open in the afternoon of July 16, and it will remain operational till midnight of July 22.

CBSE held Hindi exam for class 10 students today. The paper was 3 hours' duration and carried 80 marks in total.

The CBSE software displays the live trend of average marks scored across the centres and can be used for moderation of marks in case there's an unfair degree of ambiguity or difficulty in the question paper.

The decision, apparently, has been taken so that marks scored by a student in board exams are a true reflection of the student's performance.

Anil Swarup, the Secretary to MHRD, Government of India, today tweeted that states and boards have been issued advisory to check spiking of marks.

CBSE may not scrap the moderation policy if state boards do not reach a consensus on the issue as its students may suffer in undergraduate admissions.

In a latest development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to approach Supreme Court of India with a special leave petition (SLP), challenging the Delhi High Court order on marks moderation policy.

After the Delhi High Court asked CBSE to scrap its plan to mark moderation policy, Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has supported the policy and said it will stay in effect for now.

CBSE removed the Marks Moderation Policy this year in order to keep the percentage of students scoring more than 95 per cent marks in check. However, with most of the state boards retaining the grace marks policy at least for this year, it is likely that state board students would have an upper hand in under graduate admission this year.
