CBSE New Session: After qualifying class 10, students will be required to opt for a specific stream in class 11.

NTA has noted that the subjects have been added with the direction of UGC and CBSE to promote skill subjects.

The CBSE-affiliated schools are not required to pay any fee for introducing the skill module and skill subject at any level.

CBSE has collaborated with Microsoft to introduce coding for Classes 6 to 8 and the data science curriculum for Classes 8 to 12 as new skilling subjects in the 2021-2022 academic session.

The CBSE said the subjects 'Design-thinking', 'Physical Activity Trainer' and 'Artificial Intelligence' have been introduced keeping view what has been mentioned in the draft New Education Policy 2019.

It has been observed that the existing syllabus of Mathematics aligns well with Science subjects, but does not align well with Commerce or Social Science-based subjects in university education, the CBSE has said.

CBSE will conduct the pending board exam for main subjects only. The main subjects are those which are required for promotion and maybe crucial for admission in higher education institutions.

Class 11 students in CBSE schools will have the option to choose from Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics.

A decision to introduce the three subjects was taken at a recent meeting of CBSE's governing body.

CBSE has approved inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an optional sixth subject for class 9 students.

CBSE will incorporate practical and internal assessment component of at least 20 marks in subjects like Mathematics from the upcoming academic year.

The syllabus framed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be added to the existing curriculum of CBSE for standards 9, 10, 11 and 12.

According CBSE, a candidate will have to secure overall 33% (both internal assessment and Board examination taken together) in the subjects to be eligible to pass that subject.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, which had earlier denied allegations of paper leaks, today ordered a re-exam for two subjects but there was no word on complaints that the accountancy question paper held earlier had also leaked. The new assessment scheme will come into effect from the academic year 2017-18.
