Central Industrial Security Force Cover

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which provides security cover to the Delhi Metro and airports across the country, has got its first woman chief.

Airports in Srinagar and Jammu are to be "immediately" brought under the security cover of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in view of the arrest of DSP Davinder Singh, a Jammu and Kashmir government order has said.

Security cover given to several leaders from across party lines was downgraded and in some cases, taken off the central list after a review by the Ministry of Home Affairs, shedding nearly 1,300 personnel from the details of 350 VIPs.

The Congress yesterday wrote to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and sought Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) security cover for Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu citing "growing threat perception" to his life.

A 'Y' category of armed VIP security cover has been accorded by the Centre to Gujarat's Patidar leader Hardik Patel, official sources today said. The Central Industrial Security Force or CISF has been entrusted with the task of safeguarding Mr Patel.

Yogi Adityanath, the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has been given 'Z+' security by the Centre. The security cover will be provided by a special commando team of the Central Industrial Security Force or CISF along with a small contingent of the Uttar Pradesh police.
