A 20-year-old partygoer died today after suffering 90 per cent burns from a fireball that injured nearly 500 people at a Taiwan "colour party", with organisers facing charges after plumes of decorative powder ignited.

Witnesses described the scene at a Taiwan water park as "hell" after a ball of fire ripped through a crowd, with authorities putting the injured at more than 500 today, almost 200 of them seriously hurt.
