Madras High Court Bars Grant Of Award In MS Subbulakshmi's Name To Musician TM Krishna

The Madras High Court has restrained the Music Academy in Chennai from presenting its Sangita Kalanidhi MS Subbulakshmi Award 2024 to renowned Carnatic singer TM Krishna. The Music Academy is, however, free to present him the award in any other name.

It is the venue of the biggest music and dance concerts in Chennai. The Music Academy, one of the city's oldest landmarks, now boasts of a new distinction. Tumkur University has granted the 84 year old institution the status of a research centre.
