Chennai Techie Murder Case

The Madras High Court on Monday ordered setting up of a four-member team of doctors to conduct the postmortem of the body of P Ram Kumar, accused in the woman techie murder case, who allegedly committed suicide by biting a live wire at the Puzhal central prison in Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission today ordered a comprehensive probe into the alleged suicide of Ram Kumar, accused in the murder of 24-year-old IT professional Swathi.

Madras High Court today struck down a lower court's order to take Ram Kumar, main accused in the June 24 murder of a IT professional, to the crime scene and directed prison officials to make arrangements in jail to take his photographs, videographs and other measurements to enable them to compare it with video footage already with the police.

Amid tight security, Ramkumar, arrested in connection with the sensational murder of a woman IT professional in Tirunelveli last week, was today taken to Chennai in an ambulance and will be produced in a court.

24-year-old Swathi S, an Infosys employee, was attacked by a man with a sickle at a busy railway station on Friday. She bled to death on the platform as commuters watched but did nothing to save her. Now, new CCTV footage shows the suspected killer escaping the scene after the horrendous crime.
