The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been given two more months to complete its probe into the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) murders in Uttar Pradesh which are allegedly linked to the multi-crore irregularities in the implementation of the centre's National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to doctors in the state health services to end their strike and resume medical services in public interest. Nine thousand doctors in government hospitals in Rajasthan have gone on an indefinite strike since Wednesday asking for better pay.
