Up To 2-Year Jail, Fine Of Rs 50,000 For Child Labour

Those employing children below 14 years of age for any work, except where a child is helping his family post school hours or during vacation, can get up to two-year imprisonment and maximum fine of Rs 50,000, as per a new law which has got nod from President Pranab Mukherjee.

Amendment Bills For 2 Labour Acts Likely To Be Placed In Parliament

Amendment bills for two labour acts may be placed in Parliament soon and the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act-1986 which has already been tabled in Rajya Sabha may be passed during the upcoming monsoon session, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today said.

Draft Bill on Small Factories to be Introduced in Budget Session

The NDA government is all set to move amendment proposals to Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Bill and Factories Act, 1948 and introduce a Draft Bill on Small Factories (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) in the upcoming Budget session, Union Labour Minister B Dattatreya said on Saturday.
