China on Tuesday sent three astronauts to its now fully operational space station as part of crew rotation, according to state media, in the fifth manned mission to the Chinese space outpost since 2021.

China postponed a supply mission aboard Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft to its new space station for unspecified technical reasons.

The Long March-5B carrier rocket took off at 18:00 local time (3:30pm IST) at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in the southern island province of Hainan. It was the first mission carried out by the Long March-5B, CCTV reported, citing the China Manned Space Engineering Office.
