Alarmed over growing imports of Chinese tyres in India, a top official of Apollo Tyres on Wednesday said the situation was jeopardising the Centre's 'Make in India' campaign.

Apollo Tyres on Wednesday reported a 20.26 per cent rise decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 245.16 crore for the fourth quarter that ended on March 31, hit by import of Chinese tyres into the country.

The government is looking at anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duty investigations on imports of bus and truck radial tyres from China to protect domestic manufacturers, Parliament was informed on Monday.

The continuing massive jump in cheap imports of tyres, especially those of buses and trucks, from China, which rose 138 per cent in the first quarter, may lead to a revenue decline for domestic tyre manufacturers, says a report.
